hey everyone! so i've been thinking about coming to korea for an aesthetic procedure i've been researching, but honestly i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the whole financial side of things. i know flights aren't cheap from the us, plus accommodation, the procedure itself... it adds up fast. has anyone else done this and actually tracked what they spent overall?
i'm trying to figure out like, how many days minimum you really need to stay for recovery and follow-ups? i'm guessing you can't just fly in, get the procedure the same day, and leave two days later, right? i'm imagining you need time to settle in, meet with the clinic beforehand, then recovery time after. does anyone have a realistic idea of what a trip timeline looks like?
also, i'm trying to be smart about this and not just impulse-book everything. should i be saving for like 3-4 weeks of buffer in case something comes up? or am i overthinking it? i'd rather go in prepared than stressed and make bad decisions. any tips on how you approached planning yours, or what you wish you'd known before committing?

I completely agree with what you said—being well-prepared really does help avoid last-minute stress! I wanted to ask, when you mentioned the 3-4 week buffer period, does that include the entire timeline of consultation, surgery, and recovery? Or were you thinking about splitting it into two separate trips—one to get a consultation first, and then scheduling the actual surgery for another time?
I completely understand how you feel! I'm actually considering a similar trip myself, so seeing your post has been really helpful. I don't think your thoughts are excessive at all—allocating sufficient time is actually the wise approach, not just for post-procedure recovery but also to avoid feeling rushed. I'm also currently thinking about how long I should stay, and it seems like around 3 weeks might be the safer bet so I have time for consultations, rest, and adjustments. I really hope someone can share their actual itinerary experience!
