Hi, my name is Emi. I'm planning to get a nose filler in Korea next month, and I have some questions about the recovery process.
I'm visiting from overseas, so I'll be returning to Japan 3-4 days after the procedure. I'm worried about whether the swelling and discomfort will subside during that time. If anyone has actually had the procedure, could you tell me how long it took for your nose to return to its normal appearance? I need to be in public immediately after returning to Japan for work, so I'd like to know the approximate downtime.
Also, are there any precautions I should take before boarding a plane? I'm wondering if pressure and changes in air pressure might have an effect... I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has had the procedure under similar circumstances. Thank you!

Emi understands your anxiety. I was thinking of doing the same thing, and like you, I have to return to my country soon. I'm glad someone asked this question first because I was genuinely curious about other people's experiences. 🙏
Hi Emi! I've been in a similar situation, and I've noticed that the swelling usually starts to subside after 2-3 days, but it really depends on your individual body. Regarding flights, I've heard from more experienced friends that it's best to wait at least 3-4 days before boarding because changes in air pressure can affect this, but it's best to confirm this with the person handling your procedure!
Hi Emi! I also went to Korea for treatment and flew home a few days later, so I totally relate to your concerns. From my friends' experiences, the visible swelling usually starts to subside by the 2nd or 3rd day, but you should ask the clinic directly about your specific timeline as everyone is different. Regarding flights, make sure you drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activities—I've seen people on forums recommend maximum rest before flying, but it's best to ask your doctor for medical details! Good luck with your trip 😊
I read your post! I have the same concerns! The COVID-19 screening in Korea is very quick. I'm worried about swelling or any strange marks between trips, but from what I've heard from friends, it seems that for most people, it's within 3-4 days. And regarding the flight, I'm confused about whether blood pressure will have any effect. I hope someone who's been through a similar experience can answer!
Hi Emi, I'm also considering doing something similar, so I found your post very helpful! I'm also worried about the recovery time because I have to return to work soon after coming back home, so I'd love to hear from those who have gone through it. Hopefully, those of you with experience will share more!
Hi Emi, I hope you're doing well! I've had a similar procedure, and honestly, meeting people after only 3-4 days might be a bit worrying. In my case, I had quite a bit of swelling right after the procedure, and it didn't really subside until around the 5th day. Air travel can worsen swelling due to changes in air pressure, so it's probably best to avoid long flights immediately after the procedure if possible. I think the most reliable approach is to consult with the clinic where you had the procedure about your schedule until you return home!
