Hi everyone, I'm Fangfang. I've been thinking lately about whether I should fly to Seoul specifically for double eyelid surgery. I've looked at a few clinics in China, and while the prices and doctor qualifications vary, I still feel a bit conflicted. I've heard that Korea indeed has more extensive experience in this area, but traveling abroad just for surgery feels like a significant investment in terms of both cost and time. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks.
My concerns are mainly twofold. The first is the recovery period. If I have the surgery in Seoul, I might need to stay there for one to two weeks before I feel comfortable flying back. This adds up to considerable extra expenses for accommodation and food. The second concern is whether it would be troublesome to seek follow-up consultations with a doctor in China if there are any post-operative issues. I've heard that some people require adjustments after surgery, and long-distance communication is definitely not as convenient as being local.
Are there any sisters here who have specifically traveled abroad for this surgery? Could you share your genuine experiences and thought processes? I'm particularly interested in hearing whether you felt the trip was ultimately worth it. It feels like this decision isn't just a medical one, but more of a comprehensive trade-off. Thank you, everyone!

I feel the same way you do! The cost and travel time are indeed major issues when flying from afar. I think your concern about aftercare is also very valid — what if there's an issue and you have to video call or fly back? That sounds rather inconvenient.
