My name is Hanh, from Vietnam, and I'm planning to try some treatments in Korea, but I'm really worried about reading reviews. My Korean is very basic, so when I read feedback on review sites, I'm not sure if I'll understand it correctly. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I use Google Translate, but I'm afraid of misinterpreting the meaning.
I'd like to ask what red flags I should look out for when choosing a clinic to book an appointment? For example, overly positive reviews might seem fake, or what other signs might make you feel unsafe? I also want to know what else I can check besides text reviews to feel more confident when contacting staff.
Anyone with experience doing this kind of remote research, please share your insights! Or do you have any recommendations for verifying information without needing to be an expert in Korean? Thank you in advance!

I completely understand how you feel! I also rely on Google Translate to read reviews, and sometimes it can be quite confusing. My advice is to read several reviews and look for commonalities. If many people mention the same thing, it's likely true. Then, call or email the clinic directly, asking specific questions in English or basic Korean. They usually answer carefully, which will put your mind at ease.
I understand this perfectly! I encountered the exact same situation during my first consultation. My trick was to prepare key questions in English or draw diagrams, then call the clinic directly to ask instead of relying solely on reviews – this is much more reliable, and the staff are usually very patient in explaining things to international clients.
I understand, I had the same anxieties at first! To be honest, you can't always fully understand everything with just Google Translate, so if possible, I think the safest option is to consult a friend who is good at Korean, or email the clinic directly (in English or Vietnamese) with your questions. After that, you can also judge the clinic based on how they respond and how thorough their explanations are when you actually go for a consultation. 😊
Hi sister! I also use translation software to read Korean reviews, and sometimes it's really easy to misunderstand. Have you contacted the clinic yet? I feel that calling or emailing the clinic's customer service directly might be more reassuring than just reading reviews.
