I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery in Seoul recently, but I'm a bit torn. There are actually quite a few medical aesthetic institutions in China, but after reading many reviews on Xiaohongshu and forums, I feel like some people really approve of the results and doctors' aesthetics in Korea. However, traveling to Korea involves airfare, accommodation, and taking time off work, so the overall cost is quite high.
My main concerns right now are: Is it worth flying all the way there for this surgery? Has anyone been through a similar decision-making process? Do I need to start researching doctors and discussing plans far in advance? I've heard that the recovery period in Korea takes how long, and can I still go about my normal activities during that time? I'm a bit worried about the swelling situation after returning to China; will sitting on a plane for so long have an impact?
If I do decide to go, should I contact them directly or go through an agency? I'm afraid of getting ripped off, but I also don't want to trouble my friends. Sisters with experience, can you share how you made your decision? I'm especially interested in hearing about real experiences of regret or feeling like it was totally worth it.

I understand your concerns! When I went to get my own setonitir in Seoul, I also tried booking my appointment myself (without an agency) because I wanted to save costs. But actually, it was helpful because I could communicate directly and ask for details clearly, and the cost wasn't much different from what the agency quoted. Regarding swelling and flying, it's best to discuss the duration of your flight home with the doctor. 😊
