Hello, I'm Fatima from the UAE and I'm seriously considering traveling to Seoul for double eyelid surgery. I've seen great results from friends and read a lot about the Korean experience, but honestly, I don't know if it's worth the effort, expense, and time away from home.
What worries me is the fear of complications or not getting the result I want. If there's a problem, how will I get follow-up appointments from the UAE? Approximately how long will I need to stay in Seoul for recovery and follow-up appointments? Will I need a long leave of absence from work?
I also want to know if there are any things I should consider before making a decision? For example, how do I choose the right doctor or clinic? Have people who have traveled from the Gulf said it was worth it? Any advice would you give me?

I understand your concerns, because I felt the same way when planning my trip to SEAL. Besides worrying about post-operative follow-up from overseas, the hardest part for me was deciding on a doctor and hospital. I think you should find friends who have already gone through this and ask them about their real-life experiences. And don't forget to consider the risks and potential problems as well.
I completely understand your concerns because I'm also an international traveler considering this. 😅 What I think is important is finding someone who has done this before and following up diligently, as well as preparing yourself for recovery and long-term follow-up checks, because crossing borders again might be complicated.
Hi Fatima! I totally understand your concerns about follow-up care from the UAE. My advice is, before you decide, make sure you've communicated in detail with your doctor about the remote care protocol—sometimes they can guide you via video call for your initial check-up. I also recommend staying in Seoul for at least 1-2 weeks after the procedure to ensure everything's going well, but this really depends on individual healing! Maybe ask friends who have had it before; they can share a realistic timeline and their experiences :)
I completely understand your concerns! As someone also living abroad, I'm considering this issue as well. My biggest worry is what to do if something goes wrong; remote follow-up is really inconvenient. My current thought is that I might need to find a place with experience treating international patients; they should understand our situation better. I hope sisters who have had similar experiences can share their insights, especially regarding how long the recovery period should be!
