Hi everyone, I'm Shan. I've been considering getting double eyelid surgery in Seoul lately, mainly because I've heard South Korea has a lot of experience in this area. However, I'm still a bit hesitant about flying there specifically for it. You can have it done in China, so why go through the hassle of going abroad?
My concerns are that besides the surgery itself, there are also the costs of airfare, hotels, and whether I can stay in Seoul during the recovery period... these add up to a considerable amount. Language is also a problem; although I have a translator, I'm still worried about misunderstandings when discussing medical matters. However, I've also heard people say that traveling a long distance can make you more careful in choosing a doctor and recovery environment, which makes sense.
I'd like to ask if anyone has had a similar experience? How did you weigh this decision? Was there any special research you did before going? I'm currently in the information gathering stage and haven't made a final decision yet, so I'd really like to hear advice from those who have been through it.

I'm thinking the same thing, Shan, and honestly, your concerns are very valid 😅 The extra costs and the worry about misunderstandings with the doctor are real, but I've heard from people that the extensive experience there is truly worth it. If you decide to go, we can share our experiences later!
Shan, I'm struggling with the same thing! The airfare and accommodation costs are definitely quite high. But because it's related to medical care, I understand your desire to actually go and check out the environment and talk to doctors properly. I'm still gathering information myself, so please let me know when you've made your decision! 😊
