Hello everyone, I'm Xiao Yi, from China. I'm recently considering a big decision – whether to fly to Seoul specifically for double eyelid surgery. I've read many posts about Korean aesthetics and surgical styles, and it does feel like there are some differences. But I'm a bit conflicted because it involves time, cost, and post-operative recovery. Has anyone traveled from China to Korea for surgery? How did you make your decision?
My main concerns are: on one hand, having surgery abroad sounds like a hassle, and I need to consider language barriers, flying back home after surgery, and so on. On the other hand, I've heard that Korean eye aesthetics do differ from those in China, and I'm unsure which medical environment would be a better fit for my personal style. Also, under what circumstances is it truly worth traveling specifically for surgery? If it's just a standard double eyelid procedure, would getting it done in China be sufficient?
If any of you have experience in this area, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Especially regarding practical issues like how to evaluate a surgeon, how to communicate your needs, and post-operative care. Thank you!
