Hey everyone, I'm Chialing from Taiwan. I've been thinking about getting a treatment done lately, but I keep going back and forth between finding a clinic nearby at home or flying to Korea. Taiwan definitely has plenty of options, and it might be cheaper, plus I wouldn't need to take time off work to go abroad. But I've heard from a lot of people that Korean medical aesthetics really does have different technology and experience compared to what we have here. I'm a bit worried that getting it done locally might not give me the results I'm hoping for, but flying over there means I'd have to think about flight costs, accommodation, and the time commitment isn't small either.
I'd love to hear how you all made a decision between these two options. Has anyone done a treatment in Taiwan first and then gone to Korea later? Or did you just book a flight and go straight there? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and thoughts, especially if anyone else has been stressed about this same dilemma. I'm honestly pretty stuck right now, so any advice would be welcome!

I'm Taiwanese too, and I've wrestled with this same choice before! My experience is to try it out in Taiwan first—that way you can see how your skin actually responds. Then you can decide whether it's worth flying to Korea. Sometimes the results in Taiwan are actually pretty great, and saving on airfare is definitely worthwhile too.
I totally understand your hesitation! I actually tried it locally first before deciding to fly to Korea and have it redone. I mainly wanted to compare the results and experience for myself. My suggestion is that if your schedule and budget allow, you could consult with clinics on both sides first to understand their respective approaches and recovery timelines. That way you'll feel more confident about your decision. But ultimately, the most important thing is finding a doctor you trust, regardless of where they are.
