Hi everyone, I'm Xue. I've been thinking about coming to Korea for a minor procedure recently, but honestly, I'm still a bit nervous, mainly because I'm not sure how to clearly map out the entire trip and budget. I've read a lot of posts, and it feels like everyone's expenses vary quite a bit, which is a bit confusing.
What I'm most stuck on right now is: besides the cost of the surgery or treatment itself, I also need to factor in flights, accommodation, and food, and it feels like the costs add up really quickly. May I ask how many days people usually stay for it to be reasonable? Do you fly back immediately after the procedure, or do you need to stay a few extra days here for recovery? I've heard some procedures require follow-up visits, so should the cost of round-trip flights also be included?
Another question is that I don't really have a sense of budget and am a bit hesitant to casually ask clinics for prices (afraid of being upsold, haha), so I'd love to hear about everyone's experiences – how do you estimate the cost of the entire trip? Are there any tips I should consider in advance? Thank you so much!

I totally get how you feel! It was my first time getting treatments in Korea too, and I was really nervous and unsure about how to plan everything at first. My advice is to first check out other people's experiences shared on forums to get a general idea of the timeframe and budget. Then, directly email the clinic in Korean or English. They usually reply quite quickly, which will give you more concrete numbers. Also, the recovery period is really important. Some treatments require you to stay a few extra days, so it's safer to plan for a bit more time initially!
I completely understand your anxiety! I felt just as lost when I first considered getting cosmetic work done in Korea, not knowing where to even begin with calculations. Actually, the best approach is to message the places you're interested in to ask for prices and schedule a free consultation—they'll explain everything in detail, and from there you'll have concrete figures to plan with.
