Hey everyone, I'm Shanshan. I've been thinking about getting a small skin procedure done in Korea, but since I have a business trip coming up, I might have to fly back just a few days after the treatment. I'm a bit worried about how to take care of my skin during the trip and after I get home. Will the swelling be really noticeable?
I'd love to get some advice from you all on how to care for your skin after this kind of procedure. I know the basics like ice therapy and sun protection, but what specific products would work best? Has anyone brought soothing or repair products back home with them? I'm curious about what's convenient to travel with and actually helpful.
Also, will flying affect the swelling? I've seen different opinions online — some people say it's fine, others say you should wait until the swelling goes down before getting on a plane. I'm not sure what's actually true. If any of you have gone through something similar, especially if you've traveled or had business trips after a procedure, could you share how you handled it?
Thanks so much, everyone!

I totally get it—I'm dealing with the same kind of situation too 😅 It really is nerve-wracking when a business trip and a procedure overlap like that. I'm actually planning to bring back a few lightweight, soothing products before I head home, but honestly I have no idea how much the swelling will go down before I get on the plane... I'd love to hear from different people's experiences along with Sandra!
I totally understand your concern! I had the same worry when I had to fly back shortly after my treatment. But based on what several of my friends have shared with me, they said you don't need to stress too much if you take good care of yourself during that time. I'd love to hear from others about how they prepared for it!
I totally get it! I had a similar minor procedure done in Seoul before a business trip previously. My advice is to do plenty of cold compress treatments in the days leading up to your flight. Then starting the day before you fly, pay special attention to hydration and sun protection, since the cabin air during the flight is very dry and can aggravate swelling. I packed some hydrating sheet masks and lightweight moisturizing creams in my carry-on so I could use them anytime during the flight, and it really seemed to help! As for the swelling, I waited about 3-4 days before flying back. There was still a tiny bit of puffiness, but it was so much better by then. Hope this gives you some useful reference!
