Hey everyone, I'm kind of stuck on a decision and would love to hear how others thought through this. I've been considering getting a cosmetic procedure done, and I have the option to do it either back home in the US or make a trip to Korea. I've heard so many great things about the clinics here and the expertise, but I'm honestly torn about the logistics and recovery time.
Part of me thinks going to Korea makes sense — I could combine it with a trip, the consultations seem really thorough, and I've read a lot of positive experiences from people on this sub. But then I worry about the follow-up care after I get back home, dealing with any issues from afar, and whether it's actually worth the cost and hassle of traveling. On the flip side, doing it locally feels safer in terms of continuity of care, but I'm less sure about finding someone I trust as much.
For anyone who's made this choice, did you end up going through with a procedure in Korea? What actually swayed your decision one way or the other? Was the experience worth the travel, or do you wish you'd waited? I'm really just trying to figure out what's realistic for me right now. Any honest thoughts would help!

I totally understand your concerns about long-distance follow-up! In my experience, what helps is making sure you can communicate smoothly with their team after you return—ask them beforehand if they're available for online consultations or video calls for monitoring. That way, you don't have to worry about being alone if you have questions after you get home.
I totally get the aftercare worry—it's the thing that keeps me up at night too honestly. Like, the whole trip could be amazing, but then what if something feels off a month later and I'm just texting someone from across the world? I think I'd lean toward going if you can budget a follow-up visit or at least have a solid plan for remote check-ins, but that's just me being paranoid lol.
I understand, I'm worried about the same thing! I'm anxious about aftercare and what to do if something goes wrong. But it's reassuring to know that many people have had good experiences, and the fact that it can be combined with a trip is appealing. I haven't decided yet either, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea to just have a consultation first before making a decision.
I totally understand how you feel 😅 I was also hesitant between coming to Korea and waiting at home, but in the end I decided to come because I wanted to see how the doctor talked to me, and I thought since I was going to be in Korea anyway, I might as well try it out. It was more about seeing what others said afterwards – 'Who to consult with is good?' But this is your own decision, and it's up to you how you plan it!
