Hi everyone! I'm Ika from Indonesia, and I'm really torn on this. I've wanted double eyelid surgery for a long time, but I've been waiting. Then a friend of mine told me about her experience with surgery in Seoul, and how good the results were, so now I'm interested. But yeah, the cost of travel, accommodation, and all that is quite a bit. Has anyone considered something similar? Is it actually better to have the surgery from a distance?
What's making me hesitant is the follow-up. If there's a problem or I need another consultation, do I have to go back to Seoul? Or can I just communicate remotely? I also don't know how to choose a safe and suitable place, especially since language is a barrier. Maybe someone can share their experience or tips on how to arrange visas, hotels, or other practical matters?
I actually think there are good doctors in Indonesia too, so I'm still confused. But I think there's something that makes so many people want to go there... Is the difference really significant, or is it more about preference and budget? Please help!

Eika is in the same situation as you, and I'm thinking of coming from Mongolia and going to Seoul. After hearing your question, I felt like these same questions were worrying me too.
I'm also considering eye surgery in Seoul, so I totally understand your concerns! I'm also worried about the post-op follow-up appointments, but I've heard some medical agencies can help coordinate remote consultations. You could ask about that in advance. Honestly, I think the most important thing is finding a trustworthy doctor and hospital. That's more crucial than the location, right? Let's research it together slowly 😊
