Hi everyone! So I've been thinking about coming to Korea for a procedure I've been wanting, but I'm honestly feeling pretty overwhelmed about the financial planning part. I'm from the US and have never done anything like this before. Has anyone here gone through figuring out the total cost? Like, obviously there's the procedure itself, but then I'm trying to think through flights, accommodation, how many days I'd actually need to be there for recovery... it adds up fast in my head and I'm not even sure where to start.
I keep reading that some people come for a week or two, others say a few days is enough depending on what you're doing. I'm also wondering about the reality of flying back—like, would I actually be in good shape to sit on a plane for 15 hours right after? And should I budget for someone to come with me, or do people usually go solo? I'm trying to be realistic about costs without spending way more than I need to.
If anyone's been through this planning process, I'd love to hear how you approached it. Did you book everything in advance or play it by ear once you got there? Any tips for budgeting that actually worked? I'm not looking for specific prices (I know everything varies), just trying to get a sense of the big picture so I don't end up in sticker shock. Thanks!
