Hey everyone! I've been seriously considering getting a double eyelid procedure done in Seoul, and I'm trying to figure out if the whole trip is actually worth it. I know Korea has a huge reputation for this kind of work, and I've seen some amazing results from people online. But I'm honestly torn about whether to just go local or take on the hassle of traveling internationally for it.
My main concerns are: timing (I'd need to take time off work), recovery while being far from home, and whether the cost savings actually make sense once I factor in flights and accommodation). Plus I'm kind of nervous about the language barrier and follow-up care if something feels off weeks later. Has anyone here done this from abroad? I'd love to hear about your actual experience—like, was the trip stressful, did you feel supported, and would you do it again?
I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this or if these are legit things to worry about. Any honest thoughts would help me figure out if this is a real option for me or if I should just look into local options first.

I totally get your concern about the recovery part — how long did you end up needing to take off work, or are you still figuring that out? I'm also wondering if the language barrier was as rough as you expected, or if most places had enough English support to make it manageable?
I was also agonizing over similar concerns 😅. What I realized after actually coming here is that the time lost due to travel and recovery is quite significant. Also, if you have any concerns, it's honestly difficult to consult immediately due to time differences and language barriers. In my case, I think choosing a clinic that explained things thoroughly during the consultation and thoroughly checking the aftercare beforehand contributed to my peace of mind. I really think it's best to thoroughly research the local options before making a decision and then compare them!
