Hi everyone, I'm Tari from Jakarta. I'm planning an aesthetic treatment, but I'm really confused about whether to have it done here or go to Korea. So I've consulted with several places in Jakarta, and the results are quite varied. Some say I can do it directly here, but I'm also curious about the experiences of people who choose to go to Korea.
Why am I interested in Korea? Honestly, I've been browsing social media, and it seems like Korea has a lot of specialists in aesthetic treatments. But on the other hand, the logistics are a hassle... you have to arrange time, travel costs, and follow-up. Indonesia, on the other hand, is more convenient; I'm already familiar with the doctors, and I can go directly to them if anything comes up.
Has anyone faced a similar choice? What made you ultimately make your decision? I'm also concerned about the quality and experience of the doctors, so I wanted to hear from real people about the process for each option. Thanks!

Hello! I'm also considering this issue. I'd like to ask if the clinics in Jakarta you've consulted offer post-operative follow-up care plans? I'm worried that if I have the procedure done locally, it might be difficult to handle any problems later on.
Reading your story, I feel exactly the same way! I live in Bangkok and had always wanted to go to Korea, but ultimately decided to do it from home because of the travel costs and the time involved. I understand your concerns about needing someone to look after you during that time. I hope someone who's been through a similar choice can share their experience!
I'm very interested! Have you asked if they offer immediate slots or if there's a long waiting period? Because I'm thinking of going to Korea too, but I'm worried about the follow-up process. What if there are problems and it's difficult to resolve them? :(
I also flew from Southeast Asia to Seoul for my procedure, and I think the biggest difference is the convenience of follow-up care. However, the transportation costs you mentioned are definitely a consideration! I ultimately chose Seoul because I wanted to see how things are done in different places, but honestly, having a familiar local doctor has its advantages, since you already have a foundation of trust in them. Perhaps you could ask local doctors about their portfolios first, and then compare them with those in Seoul?
I totally get the dilemma! I was in a similar spot choosing between getting work done closer to home vs. flying to Korea. Honestly, for me the deciding factor was being able to do a consultation in person first—I flew over just for that before committing, and it made me way more confident. The follow-up care thing is real though, so maybe that's worth weighing more heavily if you're leaning toward staying closer? Either way, taking your time to research and maybe get multiple consultations (whether local or in Korea) seems like the smart move!
