Hi everyone, I'm Jing. I've been considering getting double eyelid surgery in Seoul recently. Mainly because some friends have had it done in Korea and the results seem pretty good, and I've heard that Korea has a really good eye for aesthetics and techniques in this area. But my biggest dilemma is—is it worth flying all the way from China? There are so many things to consider: airfare, accommodation, what to do during the recovery period…
I'd like to ask for everyone's honest thoughts. What preparations should I make before going? Has anyone also traveled from abroad or another city to Korea for the procedure? Do I have to stay in Korea during the recovery period, or can I return home to recuperate? I don't really know much about the medical field, so I feel like I need to do a lot of research.
Also, I'd like to know how to determine if this is really right for me? I'm worried that it might just be a spur-of-the-moment decision, but if I decide to do it, I want to find a reliable place. Could those with experience share their decision-making process? Thank you!

I flew over from Taiwan to have it done before. I think the most important thing is to schedule a consultation first and compare the styles and communication methods of several doctors. This way you can make sure that the doctor understands the effect you want! As for the recovery period, I stayed in Seoul for about a week before going home, which made me feel more at ease. However, you really have to ask the doctor how to arrange this part.
I was wondering the same thing! The travel costs are certainly high, but friends who have been there say it's worth it for the quality and expertise. Maybe we could find out more about online consultations before flying there, so we have a clearer picture before we go, and who knows, it might save some recovery time too?
I've also been to Seoul for this procedure and understand your concerns! My little tip is to schedule a consultation with the experts there beforehand, as they can help you better understand if it suits your face — I find this approach much more helpful than deciding remotely. Regarding recovery, I stayed for about 1-2 weeks to be on the safe side, but this varies from person to person, so you should ask carefully during your consultation!
I visited Seoul from the UAE last year and honestly my experience was good, but the most important thing is to go for the first consultation and take your time choosing, don't rush, and make sure you're at peace mentally before you decide 🤍
