Hi everyone, I'm Jia. I've been considering a cosmetic procedure lately, but I'm stuck on a decision—should I have it done in China or save up to have it done in South Korea?
The advantages of doing it in China are obvious: it's close to home, I can take better care of myself during recovery, and consultations are much easier. However, my friends have told me that South Korea has more mature experience and technology in this area, and the entire treatment process is very professional. My main concerns are communication issues in South Korea, and what to do if I experience any post-operative discomfort.
I'm not looking to make any medical decisions; I just want to hear everyone's thoughts—have any of you consulted with doctors in both countries? What made you ultimately choose one? I'd especially like to know how you handled practical issues like language and post-operative follow-up if you went to South Korea.
Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Yes, Zia, I totally understand your concerns about communication and follow-up. When I went to Korea, I brought a friend who spoke Korean for my initial consultation, and then I downloaded a great translation app to communicate with the clinic afterward — so if I had any questions, I could just ask them directly via chat. Maybe that'll help if you end up choosing Korea! But of course, distance and ease of local monitoring are serious considerations. Hopefully, I can get some answers from someone who's experienced both!
