Hi everyone, I'm Xia. I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I'm a bit conflicted. I've looked at information about double eyelid surgery in China, but many people say that South Korea has a really good aesthetic sense and technique in this area. I'm tempted to fly there to have it done, but I'm also wondering—is it worth going abroad just for a surgery? Besides airfare and accommodation, I also have to consider not being able to go home during recovery, and those costs add up to quite a bit.
My main concerns are: First, I'm not really sure what kind of double eyelid shape suits me best. Should I consult with someone in China first to get a basic understanding? Second, if I do go to Seoul, how do I find a reliable clinic? I have no idea how to screen clinics, and it seems quite risky. Language is also a problem…
Has anyone traveled abroad specifically for cosmetic surgery? How did you decide? Did you feel it was worth the trip afterward? I'd like to hear honest opinions, especially regarding expectation management—after all, surgical results definitely vary from person to person. Thank you all!

Hi! I totally understand your concerns. In my experience, the most important thing before going is to be well-prepared—try an online consultation if possible, ask around in your local community, and read stories from people who have had similar procedures, not just those at the hospital. As for whether it's worth it, that depends on your personal expectations and budget. If you've thought it through and have the budget, why not? But don't rush into choosing a place!
I'm considering the same thing! The cost and recovery period considerations you mentioned are very real; I'm struggling with these issues too. However, I think before making a decision, it's best to consult a trusted doctor in Taiwan to understand what style suits you best. This will give you more confidence when you go to Seoul. I hope we can both find the answers 😊
May I ask a question? When you mentioned being concerned about what body shape suits your face, did you consider consulting with doctors in your country first? I wonder if getting an opinion in your area first would have helped you make a clearer decision.
Sister, I'm thinking about this too! Have you asked any friends or acquaintances in Vietnam who have had this procedure done for their opinions, to see what they think about the cost and recovery time?
