Not only the cost of the procedures themselves, but also airfare, accommodation, food... I don't know how to plan properly. Can anyone share their experience? How long should I prepare beforehand?

I'm also not sure how many days I should stay there. I've heard that some procedures require recovery time, but I'm not sure how long. Should I ask for a few weeks off from work, or just a few days? I'm afraid that if I don't prepare thoroughly, I'll waste money.
