Hi everyone, I'm Ting. I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery recently, and I've been really torn between getting it done in China or in Korea. Many friends have told me that Korean aesthetics and techniques are indeed excellent, but traveling all the way there involves so many considerations... Besides the surgery cost, there are also round-trip flights, accommodation, and the time cost during recovery. All of this combined feels quite overwhelming.
I wanted to ask if anyone has had surgery done abroad? How did you make your decision? For example, if I can find a good doctor in China, is going to Korea still that necessary? Or are there some unique advantages to Korea that I haven't considered? My biggest concern right now is that if any issues arise during recovery, being in Korea might be quite inconvenient.
Also, I'd love to hear everyone's honest opinions on post-surgery recovery – how long do I need to take off work to return to normal activities? This is something I'm particularly concerned about. I would be so grateful if any experienced sisters are willing to share their entire process and the factors they considered!

I totally relate to your concerns! I've had the same thoughts – the cost of flights, hotels, plus the lost recovery time from work really adds up. Maybe it's worth it if you've researched good doctors here first? Who knows, there might be someone equally good and more practical for follow-ups if anything comes up later?
I thought a lot about this too before going! In my experience, the most important thing is finding a skilled doctor anywhere, rather than just focusing on the reputation of the place, because the results will last over 10 years, so there's no need to rush. I find that cost, recovery time, and having someone to care for you nearby are equally important, so you can consider both options without feeling too much pressure!
Tin, I can totally relate! I was struggling with the same thing 😅 Honestly, when I think about what might happen if there's an issue during recovery, I do feel a bit more reassured staying local, but are you leaning more towards staying in the country or going to Korea right now?
