Hi everyone, I'm Lu. I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery in Seoul recently. I could get it done domestically, but I've heard that Korea has extensive experience in this area, and their style aligns better with my aesthetic. However, the issue is that this means taking time off work, booking flights, and possibly staying there for a recovery period... I feel a bit hesitant, unsure if this trip abroad is worth it.
I mainly want to ask if anyone has had a similar experience? How did you weigh the pros and cons? For example, what's it like recovering in an unfamiliar city, are there communication issues, and what happens if follow-up appointments are needed post-surgery? My English is okay, but my Korean is really not. Plus, I'm not quite sure how to plan the entire trip and preparations.
Also, if I decide to go, should I consult a few clinics locally first and look at different options before making a decision? Or are there any pitfalls I haven't considered? I welcome everyone to share their experiences and advice. Thank you!

Not sure which clinic to choose?

I actually went through the same thing, and it was a tough decision! But what helped me was planning multiple consultations before making my choice. I felt reassured knowing that many clinics speak good English and offer online follow-up options after I returned to my country. Sometimes, waiting and mental preparation are more important than speed 💙
