Hi everyone, I'm Jia. I've been considering getting double eyelid surgery lately, but I'm having trouble deciding on options within China. I suddenly remembered that many people recommend going to Seoul, but I'm really unsure if flying there specifically is worthwhile. The round-trip airfare, accommodation, and time costs seem high. However, I've heard that some doctors there are very experienced, so I'd like to ask for your opinions.
My biggest concern is post-operative care. If I have the surgery in Seoul, I'll have to fly back home, which might affect recovery. Also, if any problems arise, it's difficult to see a doctor for follow-up appointments in China. Has anyone experienced this? How did you weigh the pros and cons?
Also, I'd like to ask what research I need to do before going to Seoul? Do I need to consult and make appointments in advance? Will language be a problem? My English is pretty good, but I really don't understand medical terminology… Could experienced women share their experiences with the whole process? This feels like a big decision, and I'd like to hear honest thoughts, not just advertisements.

I completely understand your concerns! I'm also considering something similar, and I'm really nervous about post-operative care after international surgery. However, I've heard that many people consult via video beforehand and prepare all the necessary information for recovery before their trip, which makes them feel more at ease taking care of themselves after returning home. As for the language barrier, it seems many clinics offer translation services or have staff who speak Chinese. You might want to ask when you make your appointment; it will give you more peace of mind.
