At one point, I was completely obsessed with hip-hop and used to imitate a lot of rappers. That led me to get a lot of piercings, and one of them—the one under my eye—turned into a scar over time. I heard they usually form as keloids, but why is mine just indented...? And why do I only have scars on my face...?
Honestly, I didn't really care at first, but I frequently hear that my first impression looks scary. Also, kids I meet at work or just passing by would suddenly start crying whenever I smiled, waved, or talked to them... I started wondering if it was because of this scar. After having all sorts of thoughts, I vented to an acquaintance. They told me that nowadays, acupuncture is used to promote new skin growth and advised me to go to a Korean medicine clinic instead of a dermatology one. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I made an appointment and went.
I've had about five sessions so far, and now it's barely noticeable. The director even told me that my recovery is on the faster side.
And maybe because of that, the kids don't cry when they see me anymore... Sometimes they even wave back... (I'm so touched)

ㅠㅠ There is a specific skin type prone to keloids... You must have had a hard time. It seems many people visit Korean medicine clinics. I've heard that for piercing scars, there are quite a few people who go directly to specialized scar clinics like Cheongdam Gium for treatment.
Oh, thank you! I'll have to look into it.
Haha, I'm glad the babies aren't crying... Do you happen to know what kind of saliva it is?
I had a procedure called 'Saesalchim' at R-Dam Korean Medicine Clinic in Jamsil!
