Hi everyone! So I'm finally making the leap and planning a trip to Seoul specifically for some aesthetic treatments and skincare experiences. I've been watching so many YouTube videos about the beauty scene there, and honestly I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the neighborhoods.
I keep seeing Gangnam and Apgujeong mentioned everywhere — like, are these the main hubs for foreigners doing beauty stuff? I'm curious what the vibe is actually like, because I want to stay somewhere convenient but not crazy touristy if that makes sense. Also wondering if anyone has recommendations on which areas feel safest and most accessible when you don't speak Korean fluently.
I'm thinking about staying for maybe 5-7 days. Has anyone else done a beauty-focused trip like this? Did you pick a specific neighborhood to base yourself in, or did you bounce around? Would love to know where you stayed and why it worked for you! Also genuinely curious — are there other areas people recommend besides the super famous ones?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if these are basic questions. This is my first time planning something like this! 💕

I completely understand how you feel! I was also a bit lost when I first went to Seoul, but the Gangnam area is actually very friendly to foreigners, the subway is convenient, and English is spoken. I suggest settling down in a central location first, so it's easier to get around to different areas without having to change hotels every day. I look forward to hearing your experience after your trip!
Hi! I just came back from Seoul for the same reason, and honestly, Gangnam is really busy but convenient if you don't speak Korean—there are a lot of people who speak English. But I actually enjoyed staying in a quieter area (not the main tourist area) and taking the subway everywhere, it was much more relaxing and budget-friendly! Maybe try looking for an area near a station with an express line, so it's easy to get around. Hope you have a great trip! 😊
Sister, do you plan to research places before you go or after you arrive in Seoul? This is my first time visiting and I don't know where to stay either 😅
