Hey everyone! So I'm planning to get a minor aesthetic procedure done in Korea next month, but I'm flying back to the US like 5 days after. I know there's going to be some swelling and I want to be prepared for the flight home and recovery. Has anyone traveled shortly after getting something done? I'm honestly nervous about what to bring in my luggage that will actually help.
I'm thinking I should pack some kind of cooling product or anti-inflammatory stuff, but I'm not sure what's realistic to travel with. Like, can you even bring ice packs on a plane? And what about gentle skincare products — should I wait until I'm home or bring my own stuff? I've heard people mention certain types of products that help with swelling but I don't want to show up with a suitcase full of random creams if half of them won't actually help.
Also wondering if anyone has tips for the actual flight itself — like did you wear compression or just try to keep your head elevated? Any general advice for managing recovery while traveling would be amazing. I know everyone heals differently but I'd love to hear what actually helped people in real situations!

I totally get where you're coming from! It's definitely nerve-wracking with a flight just five days away 😅 I wanted to ask, did your doctor give you a specific post-op care checklist? I've heard before that recommendations can vary quite a bit depending on the treatment, so I was wondering if your doctor suggested any items you absolutely need to bring, and anything you can wait to buy once you're back in the US?
I've also flown back after a procedure, so I understand your worries! My little tip is to bring some cool washcloths (regular ones are fine, nothing special needed) and drink plenty of water on the plane – it helps reduce swelling more than just waiting it out. Wishing you a speedy recovery! 🙏
I also flew back home 5 days after my procedure, and the most helpful thing was bringing hydrating sheet masks (regular ones) because planes are so drying. The ice pack couldn't go through security, but I bought one at the airport after passing security, and it was great for the afternoon! The key is to bring familiar items from home; don't try anything new during recovery.
