Hi everyone, I'm Yunru from Taiwan. I've been debating whether or not to fly to Seoul for double eyelid surgery. I know Korea is quite famous for this and I've heard many people specifically travel there for it, but I'm still a bit hesitant because I'd need to take time off work, book flights, accommodation... it really adds up. Has anyone here traveled from Taiwan or other countries to get it done? Do you think it was worth it?
My main concern is, besides the surgery itself, what about the post-operative recovery period? If I haven't recovered from swelling before returning to Taiwan, will it be awkward? There's also the issue of language communication. My Korean isn't great, and although many clinics seem to offer translation services, are there communication risks? Has anyone had experience they can share?
Also, I'm thinking that Taiwan actually has quite a few skilled doctors, but I've heard that Korean surgical techniques or aesthetic preferences might be different? I'm not sure if that's true or just a myth. If anyone has advice from their own experience, such as how to evaluate clinics, the booking process, or even thoughts on whether it's necessary to fly over, I'd love to hear it! Thank you all 🥺
