Hi everyone, I'm Yun! I've been thinking about getting a minor cosmetic procedure done in Korea, but I need to fly back home right after. I'm a bit worried about swelling during the flight and how to take care of it afterward.
I'd like to ask the experienced sisters here — how long does swelling typically last after this kind of procedure? If the flight is long, will it make the swelling worse? I've heard that cold compress and swelling reduction are really important, but what's the right way to actually do it?
I also want to know what skincare products I should bring from home. Like products for reducing swelling and soothing? Or would it be more convenient to buy them locally in Korea? How many days of recovery time should I plan for to be safe? I'm terrified of coming back home still looking puffy haha.
If anyone has gone through a similar situation, I'd really appreciate it! Please share your experience and tips with me!

I totally understand Yun's experience! I've been there myself—had a minor procedure done and had to head straight home the same day. Cold compresses (you can easily pick them up at convenience stores in Seoul!) combined with sleeping with your head elevated during the flight really do help. As for other skincare products, it's probably better to buy them there since they're tailored to our skin condition and climate. ^^
Oh girl, I totally understand your concerns! I've been in the exact same situation myself! Taking a flight far away after getting a procedure done and worrying about facial swelling 😅 But my experience tells me that if you prepare well and ask your doctor specifically about recovery time, it becomes so much easier. I think we should get together and share more experiences on this topic!
I've been through a similar situation too, flying back to Vietnam right after getting the procedure done! My experience is to pack cooling products (like cooling gel from Vietnam or buy at the airport) since it's more convenient than searching for them there, and I make sure to sleep a lot on the plane to reduce swelling. Good luck!
