Hi, I'm Ayaka. I've been going back and forth on this for a while, but I'm seriously considering getting double eyelid surgery in Seoul. I know I can get it done in Japan too, but I've heard that Korea has more options to choose from, and I'm wondering if it's more affordable... But since it's surgery abroad, I'm worried about aftercare and what happens if something goes wrong.
Has anyone here actually gone abroad for surgery? How much preparation time did you have before traveling? I'm also concerned about the language barrier, and I'm not really sure how long I'd need to stay in Seoul after the surgery. Plus, I'm worried about the risk of complications, and if something goes wrong after I'm back in Japan, I don't know what I'd do...
To be honest, I'm still torn between whether it's really worth traveling for, or if it would be safer to find somewhere trustworthy in Japan. I'd really like to hear from people who've had similar experiences. What made you decide?

Hi Ayaka! I've been thinking about the same thing, but from Indonesia. What I'm curious about is how long do you actually need to stay in Seoul after the surgery before you can go home? I'm worried about the schedule and also what happens if something goes wrong after I'm back home.
To Ayaka: I was worried about the same thing! A friend of mine who actually had surgery in Seoul told me that she was able to do multiple video consultations beforehand, which really eased her language anxiety. Plus, it seems like a lot of clinics have a system where you can ask questions via LINE even after you're back in Japan. That said, I still think it's important to go over the aftercare details carefully upfront.
I've been thinking about the same thing! I'm really worried about aftercare and what happens if something goes wrong after I'm back in Indonesia. But it seems like a lot of people say that if you prepare thoroughly and have detailed consultations beforehand, you can minimize the risks. I'd also like to hear from people who've actually done this—what was their experience like?
I totally get your concern! As a foreigner myself, I'm also nervous about aftercare and what if something goes wrong after I'm back in my own country. I think it's better to take more time to research and do online consultations first with a few places—maybe there's someone willing to help long-distance or has good patient care for international clients.
