Hey everyone! So I'm planning to get a minor cosmetic procedure done while I'm visiting Korea next month, and I'm trying to figure out what to pack for the flight back. I'm guessing there's gonna be some swelling, and I'm nervous about how to manage it during travel.
Has anyone flown right after getting something done? Like, what actually helped with the swelling on the plane? I'm thinking ice packs or cold compresses, but I'm not sure if those are even allowed in carry-on luggage lol. Also, are there specific aftercare products I should bring with me from home, or is it better to just grab stuff after I'm back in the US?
I'm also wondering about things like sleeping positions, staying hydrated, and compression — like, is there anything I can realistically do on a long flight that won't make it worse? Any tips or product recommendations would be super helpful. I know everyone heals differently, but I'd love to hear what actually worked for you guys!

Sister, did you ask the airline before you went? I heard that each airline has different regulations regarding items to bring after treatment, so you might want to check beforehand to be on the safe side.
I'm curious to know how many days you plan to rest in Korea after your treatment before flying? Because I'm wondering if the rest period might affect the swelling.
I've had a similar experience! My advice is to bring a gel mask or sheet mask that you can store in your bag—TSA usually allows a limited amount of gel. On the plane, I used a cold compress that can be activated without having to bring ice, and don't forget to drink lots of water, because cabin pressure makes swelling worse if you're dehydrated. I hope your recovery goes smoothly! 💙
