Hi, my name is Akari. I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery for a while, but recently I've started to wonder whether to go to Seoul or have it done in Japan. I often hear that the technology is better in Korea and that it's cheaper... But I'm quite anxious about having surgery abroad alone. I'm worried about language barriers and post-operative care.
Are there any people who have actually had the procedure done in Seoul? I'd like to know about the real experience, like how tiring the travel was, and whether it was okay to fly with swelling after the surgery. Also, how long does it take in total, from the pre-operative consultation to post-operative follow-up? Can everything be completed in one trip, or will I need to make multiple trips...?
It's easier to do it in Japan, but if the results are really different, I think it might be worth trying. But before I decide, I'd like to hear from someone with experience, or exchange information with others who are also undecided. What would you do?

Hello Akari! Your question is very important, I also thought about the same thing 😅 But I want to ask - are you planning to go alone or with someone? Because I heard that having someone with you after the procedure helps a lot with the psychological and practical aspects, especially the first few days.
Akari, I totally understand! I have the same worries, and I've been really concerned about the language barrier and how post-operative care will be handled. It takes so much courage to actually have surgery overseas, doesn't it? I'm also researching various options right now, so I really sympathize with your desire to hear from someone who has gone through it. I would love to exchange information if possible!
I understand your concerns! I flew to Seoul alone last year to get double eyelid surgery. The biggest benefit was downloading a translation app beforehand and finding a Chinese-speaking consultant, which made communication so much smoother. Regarding the swelling issue when flying, I flew back a week after the surgery, and I was still a little nervous, so it's probably safer to allow ample recovery time.
