Hello, I'm Champ. I've been thinking about going to Seoul to get double eyelid surgery because I've heard the doctors there are really skilled and have plenty of experience. But I'm still not sure if it's worth traveling all the way from Thailand. To be honest, I'm worried about the total costs—plane tickets, hotels, doctor's fees, plus follow-up appointments after I come back. I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually had this experience.
Another thing I'm curious about is the preparation and aftercare process. How do you manage something like this when you have to travel so far? What if something goes wrong after I get back? Or if I want the same doctor to do my follow-up check-ups? I really don't understand what I should be preparing for.
Has anyone here traveled to Seoul for something like this? Could you please share your experience? And could you advise whether I should go ahead or just get it done in Thailand instead? Thanks in advance.

I completely understand your concerns! I was also considering this from overseas, and just thinking about the round-trip flights, accommodation, and post-op care gave me a headache. What I eventually realized is that the key is finding a medical team willing to provide remote post-op consultations—that way if issues come up, you can reach out and get timely support rather than being stuck without help. I'd suggest you start by asking several clinics in detail about their post-op follow-up plans for international patients. That'll give you a much clearer picture of whether the whole thing is actually worth it!
I had the same concerns as you about the cost and remote follow-up appointments, but honestly, many places in Seoul are really supportive of international clients through video call check-ins afterward. You just need to plan carefully ahead of time about how long you'll stay and ask clearly about the support policy of the clinic you choose!
I totally get it, Champ! I was also torn between going from Japan to Seoul or getting it done in Thailand, so I really understand how you feel. When you're traveling from far away, it's definitely worrying about the costs and aftercare, right? In my case, I ended up looking for a place where I could consult online, and after talking to a doctor via video a few times, I made my decision. It seems like there are clinics that properly support you even from a distance. I think it would be good for you to actually reach out to them and ask in detail about their aftercare system and follow-up support!
