Hi everyone! I'm Lauren from the US and I'm thinking about getting some aesthetic work done while I'm in Korea, but honestly I'm feeling a bit lost on how to even start looking for a clinic I can actually trust. There are SO many options and I can't read Korean, which makes me nervous.
I'm wondering — how do you all vet places before going in? Do you usually find clinics through English-friendly websites, recommendations from friends, or something else? And how important is it to have a consultation in English or with an interpreter? I'm worried about miscommunication, especially when it comes to what I actually want done.
Also, what kind of questions or things do you check before booking? Like, do you ask about the doctor's credentials, look at before/afters, ask how many times they've done the specific procedure? I know there's a lot of clinics that cater to foreigners but I want to make sure I'm going somewhere legit, not just somewhere that's good at marketing to tourists lol.
Any tips or experiences you're willing to share? Would really help ease my mind before I make any decisions!

Hi Lauren! I'm also a foreigner, and when I first started looking for a place here, I was really confused haha. What helped me the most was asking around in online community groups like this, asking for before-after photos while being honest about what I wanted—don't be shy about clarifying things over and over again! The most important thing I always ask is about their experience and what they can and can't do, and then I ask for a longer consultation to really connect with the doctor. Good luck with your search! 🤍
