Hi everyone, I'm Citra from Jakarta and I'm really tempted to go to Seoul for double eyelid surgery. I've wanted to for a long time, but I've always thought it would be better to wait until I had the opportunity to travel. Now I think I really want to take the plunge, but I'm still unsure whether it's worth traveling from Indonesia specifically for this.
My biggest concerns are logistics—from travel, accommodations, recovery, to follow-up visits. I've never had surgery abroad, so I'm a bit nervous. Plus, I've read that aftercare is really important. What if something goes wrong and I'm back in Indonesia? Can doctors here handle follow-up after a procedure in Korea?
Has anyone had this experience? How do you balance the cost of travel versus the potential for better results? And realistically, how long do you need to stay in Seoul for recovery before you can go back to work? I'd also like to know from a practical perspective—does an in-person consultation really have to be done first, or can I go online? Thanks, any insights would be helpful! 🙏

I think your concerns are very reasonable! I'd like to ask if you've considered consulting with local people in Jakarta first to see if they can help with post-operative follow-up? That would probably put your mind at ease and you wouldn't have to worry about who will take care of you after you get home.
Citra, I completely understand how you feel! I had the same anxieties. By the way, if I were to have surgery in Seoul, what would be the minimum length of stay you plan to have post-operative follow-up? I'm struggling to balance my recovery period with my work schedule.
