Hello, my name is Tukta and I'm from Thailand. I've recently started seriously considering getting double eyelid surgery because my current eyelids are drooping more and more. Friends say it's not difficult to find a good doctor in Korea, but I'm busy with work and planning to have a baby, so I need to think carefully about my budget. I'd like to ask if anyone has been there before? Firstly, are there any issues with the long journey or recovery?
My biggest confusion is whether I should go straight to Korea or try a clinic in Thailand first. I've heard that some skilled surgeons in Korea are better, but I'm not sure. Secondly, if I go to Korea, what are the ongoing problems afterward? I'd really appreciate hearing about anyone's experience, from pain and recovery time to the results.
Furthermore, regarding preparation before going, are there any things I need to do in the week beforehand? And how long should I stay in Seoul? Any advice on choosing a clinic or questions to ask during the consultation with the surgeon would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tuktuk! I was thinking the same thing, so reading your post made me feel a little more at ease. It seems like a lot of people are saying their experiences in Korea are great, but I'm also worried about the distance and recovery time, especially if I have things to do at home. Hopefully someone can share their real-life experience so we can both make a more confident decision!
Hi Tuk! I was wondering the same thing, so reading your post really resonated with me 😅 From what I've heard, many people have said they had good experiences in Seoul, but I think it's important to help research the right clinic and not rush—maybe we can share info if we find a promising one?
Hi Tukta, I totally relate to your situation because I'm also a foreigner, and distance and budget are huge factors! I think it might be more practical to consult here (via video call or chat) before committing to flying to Seoul, so you can get a feel for their response and start to understand your budget requirements. Hopefully, you can find the right solution, and good luck to everyone!
I understand your concerns! I also flew from China to Seoul for consultations before, and my biggest advice is to consult with a few clinics online first to clarify their communication methods and follow-up procedures. This is because you'll need remote communication or follow-up visits if there are any problems after surgery. Regarding the recovery period, it's best to reserve at least a week in Seoul so you can handle any issues promptly and feel more at ease.
Hi Tuk! I totally understand the confusion, especially with work schedules and birth plans. Based on the experience of my friends who have been to Seoul, it's best to come for an in-person consultation before deciding, so you can ask lots of questions and see the clinic's vibe for yourself. Regarding recovery, they say it takes time for the swelling to go down and it's best to have someone with you, so maybe you can arrange with family or friends who can stay with you. I hope you can make the right decision for yourself soon! 💕
Just a quick question. You mentioned that your friends said it's easy to find a good doctor in Korea, but what have you decided? Are you going straight to Korea or consulting someone in Thailand first? I'm curious if your friends have actually gone to Korea already, because I'm also hesitant. 🙏
