Hello, it's Akari. I'm planning to get a minor facial contouring procedure in Korea next month, but I have a trip scheduled right after... I'm concerned about swelling. How long does post-procedure swelling typically last? Also, are there any aftercare products you'd recommend bringing for the trip?
I've heard that cooling is important, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to get ice at a hotel while traveling. Would it be okay to bring something like a reusable ice pack, or should I buy something there...? Also, is it okay to do my usual skincare, like applying sunscreen and moisturizer, immediately after the procedure?
If anyone has gone through something similar, I'd love to hear about what you paid attention to during your trip and what was helpful. I plan to ask my doctor, but I wanted to get some knowledge beforehand. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

I totally understand your concerns! I was also a bit nervous before heading out right after a minor treatment in Korea. My advice is to bring some reusable cold packs or ice packs. Although there are restrictions on air transport, you can buy frozen items once you arrive in Korea or at your destination. Hydration and sun protection are indeed very important. I used a lightweight hydrating toner and a gentle sunscreen, which I felt helped a lot. The most crucial thing is to follow your doctor's advice, as recovery times can vary significantly depending on the treatment. You've got this!
Akari here! I was thinking of doing the same thing. Ever since reading your post, I've felt so much more confident 😊 I hope others will share their experiences with self-care while traveling too. That way, we can all prepare in the same way.
