Hey everyone! So I've been researching getting a procedure done and I keep going back and forth between doing it locally here in the US or taking the plunge and going to Korea. The quality seems really solid over there, and I've heard great things from people in these communities, but I'm honestly nervous about the logistics and whether it's worth the whole travel situation.
I guess my main hesitation is like... if something feels off after I get back home, what does that actually look like? Do you go back to Korea for a follow-up? Do you find a local doctor who can help? I'm also just not totally sure what the cost difference would really be once I factor in flights and staying somewhere for recovery time. It sounds cheaper on the surface, but is it actually?
For anyone who's done a procedure abroad—how did you make the final call? Did you just bite the bullet and go, or were there specific reasons that made it feel like the right move? I'd love to hear what went into your decision, especially from other people in the US who dealt with the same back-and-forth. Thanks in advance! 💕

I'm thinking the same thing! Whether to go from America or have it done in Korea is a really complicated issue. The need to see the results after the operation that you're concerned about is also very worrying to me.
I'm in the same boat honestly! Did you end up finding any US-based doctors who have experience working with patients who've had procedures done abroad? That follow-up care thing is what's holding me back the most.
I totally get the follow-up care anxiety—I had the same worry before going! Honestly, I ended up asking around beforehand and found that most places have some kind of contact system for questions after you leave, even if it's just messaging. That said, I also made sure to get everything in writing and took tons of photos during my visit so I'd have documentation if I needed to show a doctor back home. The travel costs are real though, so maybe factor in a longer trip to justify the flights? That way you're not rushing recovery and can take your time.
