This is a nose line correction that shaves down the hump (bump) in the center of the bridge of the nose to create a smooth side profile.
Hump nose correction is a surgery that creates a smooth profile by trimming the bone or cartilage (lump) protruding from the center of the nasal bridge. After shaving off the lump, the spread-out nasal bones are brought together, and if necessary, the nasal bridge and tip are trimmed together to achieve balance.
Raised lumps are trimmed and shaved, and any nasal bridge bones that may have spread apart are cut and brought back together (osteotomy). If the nasal bridge appears low, it may be supplemented with an implant.
If osteotomy is involved, bruising and swelling may increase. If a deviated nose is also present, it is recommended to correct it at the same time.
If the bridge of the nose appears flat after removing the lump, the line is supplemented with implants or autologous tissue to restore balance.
If the lump is shaved off, the nasal bridge bones may spread apart, so they are often brought back together via osteotomy. It depends on the case.
