New Smile LASIK is a surgical method that addresses the various drawbacks of LASIK and LASEK. New Smile LASIK uses a femtosecond laser that penetrates directly without removing the corneal epithelium or creating a flap. By directly irradiating the corneal stroma with the laser, it creates a lenticule, which is a small piece of corneal tissue. Vision correction is completed by removing this lenticule through a micro-incision of approximately 2mm in the cornea. Because of this process, the disadvantages associated with the flap in LASIK have been overcome, as have the long recovery period and pain associated with LASEK. Since the surgery is performed through a micro-incision of about 2mm, the wound area is very small.

Temporary dry eyes and glare may occur after surgery. All surgeries are performed following thorough consultation with the medical team.
