Hi everyone! I'm Mei, and I'm finally going to Seoul next month! I'm super excited but also a little overwhelmed because there are so many skincare and beauty options in Korea.
I mainly want to experience Korean skincare philosophies and some popular beauty treatments, but honestly, I'm still a bit confused about how to choose. Have any of you ladies shared your skincare treatments or beauty experiences in Seoul? Like deep cleansing, mask therapy, or other skincare experiences? I want to know your real feelings, not just what's advertised.
Also, I really want to explore Seoul's skincare districts and beauty shops. I've heard some areas have a lot of brands and experiences concentrated there. Can anyone recommend the most worthwhile areas to visit? My skin is combination to dry, and I'm interested in gentle skincare.
Also, how much budget should I prepare? I'm not entirely sure about the local price range. Thank you so much for your advice!

Hi Mei! I'm also going to Seoul for the first time next month and I'm feeling the same as you—I'm confused about what to choose haha. I heard that Korean sheet masks and essences are really good and reasonably priced, so maybe we can try those first before committing to a more serious treatment? If anyone has been to a famous skincare shopping area, please share your real experiences, not just the ads!
I just returned from Seoul last month too! My little tip is to try sheet masks at convenience stores first; they're cheaper and offer a wide selection to find one that suits your skin. Then, if you like it, you can try other services. For combination skin like yours, I find lightweight moisturizers are great! 😊
Hey Mei! I also just got back from Seoul last month and had the chance to experience several skincare treatments. The most worthwhile one, in my opinion, was the facial with Korean essence they use — it felt completely different from back home, probably because the products are fresh and the gentle technique is perfect for your combination-dry skin. By the way, it's best to be flexible because prices vary, but many are surprisingly affordable! Hopefully, you'll find the perfect one for your skin 😊
Hello Mae! I'm also from Taiwan and just got back from Seoul last month, so I totally understand how you feel! At first, I was also a little overwhelmed by all the choices, but I found that taking my time browsing and chatting with the staff was the best way. Your skin type is similar to mine, so I think the key is to try out local skincare products first. Many stores are happy to let you try them out. As for your budget, I think you can set a wide range first; you'll be clearer about how much you want to spend when you're actually shopping. Good luck!
