After my first nose surgery failed, I finally made the big decision to get a revision rhinoplasty on the tip of my nose.
Since I am impatient and couldn't wait for the swelling to completely subside, I am posting this as a review and a question regarding the revision surgery.
For my first nose surgery, silicone and ear cartilage were used.
At some point, a height difference appeared at the tip of my nose, so I really wanted a revision.
Furthermore, as my columella gradually shortened, my nose tip became upturned, and my nostrils were too visible from the front. It became a huge source of stress as I got older.
The goals for this surgery were:
1. Revision of the nose tip > Improvement of the height difference (I had absolutely no desire for height!)
2. Lowering the shortened nose tip and columella (to make the nostrils less visible)
I wanted to proceed with autologous rib cartilage rhinoplasty, but I was told that the autologous rib cartilage had calcified and could not be used.
So, Dr. Lee Hyun-soo performed the surgery using donated rib cartilage. And since I heard that donated rib cartilage might be absorbed, they said they would perform the rhinoplasty by overlapping two pieces.
For those of you who are worried about a deformed nose tip like me, I think your chances of success might increase if you look into nose tip revision surgery rather than general rhinoplasty.
It has been about 6 months since the surgery, so the swelling has subsided somewhat, and the shape seems to have settled. It definitely feels better than before, and the feeling that my nostrils were clearly visible from the front seems to have been corrected significantly. So, as long as there is no change in the shape, I think this will be the last time I get nose tip revision surgery.
What do you think? Do you think the nose tip revision surgery turned out well?

Wow, I'm also stressed because after my first surgery, my columella curled inward and my nostrils became visible over time... Even considering the swelling, the holes visible from the front have really come down a lot!! You are Dr. Lee Hyun-soo at Finish Plastic Surgery, right? I'm planning to go for a consultation too. Is there a big difference in cost between the first surgery and the revision surgery? ㅠㅠ
That's right, I had it done by Director Lee Hyun-soo! Since it was a revision surgery, it definitely cost a bit more than the first one ㅠㅠ. Still, I was really worried about calcification in the autologous rib cartilage, but since they used two donated rib cartilage grafts to increase the fixation strength, I think it was worth the money~
I think the nose surgery turned out beautifully with a straight line!! If the shape stays like this, I don't think I'll need revision surgery again??
I think it's thanks to the director taking such careful care of me, tailoring the treatment to my condition. Hearing that I'll look even prettier once the swelling goes down gives me strength! Thank you.
Even just looking at the side profile, your nostrils definitely look lower. Did you get a procedure to lower your columella?
Yes, yes!! That's right!! Since I had the nasolabial angle correction and columella lowering done together, it seems like my nostrils look much lower.
I completely understand how stressful it is every time you look in the mirror, as your impression changes drastically as you get older if your nose tip droops or lifts. I'm also looking into revision rhinoplasty now that I've entered my 40s. Just looking at how much your nostrils are visible from the front, you look at least 5 years younger!! I can really feel the vibe of a huge success.
I didn't realize it when I was young, but as I get older, even a slight change in the shape of my nose makes my face look droopy. Now that my nostrils are covered, I definitely look less tired and feel younger, so I'm already satisfied.
I think it was a stroke of genius that you didn't aim for too high and just fixed the specific issues. It definitely looks natural, so I think this might be the last nose surgery for you.
I really hope so. Thank you.
