Hello everyone! I'm Wanchen from Taiwan, and I'm super excited because I'm flying to Seoul next month! I've always wanted to experience Korean beauty culture firsthand. I've heard Seoul has many amazing skincare clinics and beauty areas, but honestly, I'm a little lost and don't know where to start.
I'd most like to try some of the more popular Korean skincare treatments, like the skin management courses that everyone talks about online, and some gentler medical aesthetic procedures. I'd like to ask if anyone has had similar experiences in Seoul? Do you have any specific recommendations for areas or types of clinics? I've heard there are many options in Gangnam and Myeongdong, but I'm unsure how to choose the right place for me.
Also, my skin is combination to dry and prone to sensitivity, so I'd especially like to try Seoul's famous soothing skincare products and treatments. Could anyone share their personal experiences? Or give me some practical advice, like what to be aware of or how to prepare? Thank you all! ❤️

Hi Wow, Tian! I'm also from Taiwan and I'm planning a trip to Seoul soon, so reading your post felt so familiar 😄 My skin condition is very similar to yours—sensitive and dry—so I'm doing my research to find a suitable place to try gentle skincare treatments. I'm currently researching how to choose, and I think it might be helpful to read reviews, ask friends who have been there, and ideally, explain your skin's needs clearly during the consultation. I hope we can both find a place that suits us! Let's cheer each other on! 💪
Wow, Taiwanese sister! I also have sensitive skin, and I really want to ask you—have you considered getting a skin test before you go? Because I heard that Korean skincare is quite different from what we're used to, I'd like to know if you plan to consult a doctor first, or just try it out directly?
Oh I totally get the overwhelm — I was in the same boat when I first came to Seoul! Honestly, I'd suggest walking around the areas you mention and just popping into a few places to chat with the staff about what they'd recommend for sensitive skin, since everyone's needs are pretty different. Have you thought about what specific concerns you want to address first, like texture or sensitivity?
Wow, your trip was so exciting! I'm also thinking about going to Seoul in the next few months and want to explore gentle beauty treatments for sensitive skin like mine. It's great to know there are others with the same concerns, so hopefully more people will share their experiences here! 😊
Kanten-san, I'm sure you're looking forward to your trip to Seoul! Since you have sensitive skin, are there any precautions you take beforehand, such as patch tests? I have similar skin type, so I'm curious to know how you manage things once you're there. 😊
