Hi everyone, I'm Peiyu. I'm planning to have a minor surgery in Korea soon and then travel abroad for a few days. However, I'm a bit concerned about swelling and post-operative care. Has anyone had a similar experience they can share?
I'd like to know, generally, how long does post-surgery swelling usually last? I've heard cold compresses are important, but bringing ice packs back to Taiwan from Korea seems a bit impractical. Are there any portable cold compress products that are easy to travel with? Also, regarding skincare, do I need to use particularly gentle products after surgery? Can I continue using my regular products?
I'm also wondering how many anti-swelling items I should pack. Has anyone done something similar while traveling? Can you offer some advice? Thanks, everyone!

I had a similar experience when traveling after a minor procedure in Korea. I found that a reusable gel ice pack was super convenient because it was lightweight and easy to bring on the plane compared to regular ice packs! As for skincare, you should really ask your medical professional about the safest products for this period. Everyone's skin is different, so it's impossible to say for sure 😊
Same here! I just got back from Korea after getting a little something done, and I have to fly back to Thailand in a few days too. I think we might need to find other ways to deal with swelling besides ice, because it's really difficult to bring it on the plane. Has anyone used any imported products that help with swelling? I'd love to know where to find them in Korea.
Oh, I've had that same worry before! Actually, from my friends' experiences, swelling can last a few days to a week, depending on the type of procedure. For travel, you could consider buying cooling gel pads that can be frozen in a hotel fridge, or just use regular cold compresses—they're at least more practical to carry than an ice pack. Hope the procedure goes smoothly and your vacation is enjoyable!
Wow, I'm also contemplating trying something similar and going to Taiwan afterward, so your post is super helpful! I'm also worried about swelling and how to manage it while traveling; hopefully, someone can share their experience here.
