Hi everyone! My name is Yao, and I'm from China. I recently discovered this community and I'm so happy to join! To be honest, my understanding of Korean beauty products was quite limited before; I only knew about some big brands. But in the past year, I've become increasingly fascinated by K-beauty and skincare philosophies, and they really seem quite different.
I was initially drawn to Korean beauty by my friend's skin. She had some cosmetic procedures done in Korea, and although they weren't major surgeries, her skin condition had definitely improved a lot. So I started scrolling through Xiaohongshu and YouTube like crazy and discovered that Korea seems to have a systematic methodology for cosmetic procedures, and they seem quite cautious, not jumping straight into large-scale projects.
Now, I plan to build a solid skincare foundation and maybe try some procedures if I have the chance. However, I know I still have a lot to learn, so I'm here to hear everyone's experiences and thoughts. Is there anyone else from China who's particularly interested in this? Looking forward to exchanging ideas with everyone!

Hi Yao! I'm also from abroad and I started my Korean skincare journey about a year ago. I completely agree with you that the philosophy here is very different—people focus on building a strong routine first rather than jumping into procedures. I recommend focusing on simple, natural ingredients at the beginning and trying things one at a time. This helped me a lot before I even thought about anything else. 😊
Hi Yao! How long did it take for your friend to see results after the procedure? I'm also interested in K-beauty, but I want to build a good foundation for my skincare first.
Hi Yaoi! Welcome to the community! 😊 I also only discovered K-beauty a few years ago and was immediately captivated by their detailed and patient-focused approach. It was so fun reading your friend's story—I also noticed that Korea focuses more on strong foundation skincare before any treatment. I'm curious, which K-beauty product has made the biggest difference for your skin?
Hi Yao! I'm also a big fan of K-beauty, especially the scientific approach Koreans take to skincare. My friends in Seoul also say they prefer using good, basic products before trying any tricks, so I'm really curious — what Korean skincare products have you tried that you like the most?
