Please recommend a good place for vision correction.

My eyes are so dry and uncomfortable, probably because I've been wearing contact lenses for so long.

I'm seriously considering vision correction surgery now, but I don't know where to go.

When I search online, there are tons of recommendations for places that do vision correction well, but there also seem to be a lot of advertisements, so I can't bring myself to make a decision right away.

People around me are telling me to get an examination first. Is there anything I absolutely must check when looking for a good place for vision correction?
