Hey everyone! So I'm finally planning my trip to Korea and I'm honestly kind of overwhelmed trying to figure out the logistics. I know Gangnam and Apgujeong are supposedly the main hubs for beauty stuff, but I'm not sure if I should actually stay in those areas or if it's better to pick somewhere else nearby?
Like, is it worth the extra cost to stay right there, or can you easily get around on the metro? Also, I'm curious what people's favorite neighborhoods are for just hanging out between appointments – somewhere with good cafes, shopping, that vibe. I want it to feel like a real trip, not just bounce between clinics, you know?
Has anyone done this before? Where did you stay and would you do it the same way again? And are there other areas I should know about, or is it really just those two neighborhoods worth focusing on? Any tips on timing your trip or things you wish you'd known before going would be super helpful too!

Wow, that's a really comprehensive question! I'm curious, if you were to stay in a more affordable area but had to take the subway for 20-30 minutes, would that still be worth it for you, or would it just be tiring? Because I'm also planning my first trip and I'm worried about getting exhausted, hehe.
I understand! I was also unsure where to stay at first. After actually going there, I realized that being close to the station is enough. If it's just a few stops on the subway, you can easily get around, so you might not need to choose a more expensive place. I stayed at a different station, but I enjoyed exploring cafes and had no regrets. Taking walks between treatments is also a great way to refresh yourself 😊
I'm also going for the first time, so I understand how you feel! I think staying near Gangnam or Apgujeong is more convenient than traveling a long distance, but it might not take too long to stay in a surrounding area and take the subway. I'm currently debating between staying in the center or a bit outside to be both convenient and less expensive, but I haven't decided yet 😅
Hi sis! I'm also planning a beauty trip to Seoul and wanted to ask which area you ended up choosing to stay in? I've heard the subway is very convenient, but I'm not sure if it's more cost-effective to stay in those popular commercial districts, or if surrounding areas would also work?
I understand, I'm thinking the same thing! Gangnam and Apgujeong definitely seem convenient, but if we can travel by subway, staying a little further out might be more cost-effective. I also want to enjoy cafes and shopping between treatments, so hearing opinions from people who have actually been there is really helpful.
Last time I stayed near Gangnam and found it very convenient because places weren't far and the subway was easy to access. But honestly, you could stay in a different area and still take the subway in if you want to save money! The great thing is that having downtime between treatments allows for leisurely cafe hopping or shopping, which is lovely. So, I recommend choosing accommodation near a main subway line. That way, you'll be comfortable without overspending 😊
Wow, I'm also planning this trip soon! But my question for you is — do you feel like you really need to stay in the same neighborhood, or does the metro make it easy to get around different neighborhoods?
I totally get the overwhelm! Honestly, I stayed in Gangnam area last time and loved being able to walk to stuff between appointments, but the subway is literally so efficient that you could stay literally anywhere nearby and still get around super easily in like 15-20 mins. My best tip: pick somewhere with good cafes around it because you'll def have downtime while waiting for swelling to go down, and it makes a huge difference mentally. The vibe matters more than being in the exact same neighborhood imo!
I was messy at first too, it's great! Since the metro is so good, I think you can save money by staying in an apartment elsewhere, but it was difficult for people to have enough time between programs. I think you should choose another place depending on how much mental space you want!
