Regarding showering after liposuction, which is safer—cold water or lukewarm water—immediately after surgery while wearing a waterproof dressing and compression garment? Also, when and how should I check for the effects on infection, swelling, and scarring depending on the shower duration, soap use, and the timing of when direct water contact with the incision site is permitted, as well as the type of waterproof dressing (disposable film, silicone, etc.)?

ugh I had the same questions after my procedure and honestly it's so confusing with all the different instructions floating around! I'd definitely ask your post-op team directly about the water temp and when you can actually get the incision sites wet, since it probably depends on what type of dressing they used on you. from what I've gathered, most people seem to wait at least a week or so before letting water directly hit the incisions, but I'm definitely not a doctor lol
I understand, I'm worried about the same thing 😅 Post-operative instructions vary from doctor to doctor, so it's nice to know what everyone else is doing. I'm especially worried about things like the water temperature for showers and when I can start showering normally again. It would be great to hear advice from someone who's actually gone through this...
