After eye surgery, it's best to avoid rubbing your eyes, washing your face vigorously, and wearing contact lenses, applying makeup, or drinking alcohol, especially in the early stages of recovery. In particular, water or shampoo can irritate your eyes, so you need to be quite careful when washing your face or hair. At that time, I used an eye patch to try and keep water out.
