Do the results tend to stay intact after the orthodontic treatment is finished?

I am considering getting braces and I am curious about how the results will last after the treatment is finished.

I am wondering if the alignment of my teeth remains stable even after the treatment is complete, and I would also like to know if it can last a long time if I take good care of it.
