Until recently, there was one phrase I used most often while investing in stocks:
"Should I enter now?"
Looking at the charts, it seemed like the price had already risen significantly; yet, if I didn't buy, it felt like it would keep going up. As I repeatedly experienced the stock falling after I actually made a purchase, I gradually lost confidence.
So, at some point, I realized that I needed to understand the market first rather than just looking for specific stocks.
It was then that I happened to watch *Oh My Stock*.
At first, I thought it wouldn't be much different from other stock market broadcasts. However, once I actually watched it, I was impressed by the fact that it didn't simply recommend stocks, but explained why the market moves.
In particular, the broadcast that day covered the issue of a peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran as its main topic.
In fact, if you just look at the news, you might simply pass by thinking, "The war is ending."
However, *Oh My Stock* went a step further and explained the connection by linking international oil prices, inflation, interest rates, and the domestic stock market.
After listening to that, I began to understand, little by little, why a single global issue can influence the domestic stock market. The most interesting part was the discussion on the nuclear power sector.
I had heard a lot about the rapid growth of the AI industry recently, but I never imagined it would be connected to nuclear power.
The explanation continued by stating that as AI advances, data centers increase, and as data centers grow, a massive amount of electricity is eventually required.
The analysis suggested that nuclear power is once again drawing attention as a means to stably supply that electricity.
OhmyStock mentioned the launch of the Korea-US Strategic Investment Corporation, the possibility of securing overseas nuclear power plant orders, and expectations for the expansion of the SMR business, explaining why the market is showing interest in nuclear-related companies.
It was a time to hear the answer to "Why nuclear power now?" rather than simply saying "nuclear stocks are good."
What I realized while watching the broadcast was that the market does not move without a reason.
Individual investors often only look at the results.
They often focus only on whether the stock price has gone up or down. However, I realized that what is truly important is the process of examining where money is moving and which industries the market is anticipating for the future.
The "Takeoff Acceleration Technique" introduced by OhmyStock was also an approach based on this perspective.
It was a strategy of first identifying the zones where market attention is focused and discovering opportunities within them.
In the latter part, the discussion continued with the department store sector.
Explanations were given regarding changes in the consumer market, such as the increase in foreign tourists, the expansion of luxury consumption, and the growth of department store sales.
Although it was an industry I usually had little interest in, listening to the explanations helped me understand why it has recently been receiving attention in the market.
What I liked most was that it wasn't difficult.
I often gave up halfway through economic broadcasts due to unfamiliar terminology, but OhmyStock explained things simply enough for even novice investors to understand, making it less burdensome.
There is no single right answer in investing.
However, broadening one's perspective on the market is certainly helpful. I believe that in highly volatile market conditions like the recent one, it is important to first identify where the market is headed before deciding what to buy.
